Wow! What a creative way to herald-in Santa's Arrival. Santa followed the Toy Soldier Marching Band to a movie theater and play area at a Concord shopping center. The kids then posed for photos with Santa and the Marching Band. Later they enjoyed the movie The Elf.

 They Went Out, Not In

People sat outside, not inside at In and Out Burger, Anchorage Square, San Francisco. They were in for a special treat, not a secret sauce. Piccola Carolers harmonized Christmas songs while the luncheon crowd enjoyed burgers, fries, and soft drinks. Pigeons cooed their approval.

December 2021 was most welcomed for a celebration. After months of Covid lockdown, residents of an assisted living community were treated to our hit parade band featuring songs from the decades, no social distancing, and a balloon drop.  Father time greeted the partygoers.

 His props lit up the sky.

Our juggler was the opening act for an under the stars tree lighting. He tossed five technicolor juggling balls, flipped colorfully lit juggling pins while riding his unicycle, and later wowed his audience with green and orange box juggling.

Twas the third night of Chanukah and all through the mall Dreidels were spinning- the Gimmel takes all.  A balloon artist sculpted dreidels and a huge Menorah which signified the Chanukah tradition. Happy Chanukah to one and all.

There was no need to dream of a White Christmas.  Adults and children were skating on an outdoor skating rink next to a colorfully decorated Christmas Tree. A Marimba trio added to the festive afternoon with a mix of holiday favorites and music from Brazil and Latin America.

There was a Caribbean Christmas at a Tree Lighting at a Northern California shopping center. As a warm-up in anticipation to Santa's arrival, this Steel Pan trio played Christmas favorites with upbeat music from St. Martin, Jamaica, and Trinidad.

 "Smile and the Whole World Smiles with You" was one of the hit songs from the 1940's by a Jump Jive Swing Quartet.  And of course, make sure to "Dance on the Sunny Side of the Street." Enjoy classic hits made famous by Louis Armstrong, Tex Beneke, Count Basie, and Les Brown's Band of Renown. Plan your Speakeasy/Roaring Twenties theme with Jump Jive music, a Gangster with his Gun Mole, Gatsby Girls, Cigarette Girls. and a Cigar Roller.

 If a family shopped on Halloween at a Northern California shopping center they were in for a huge surprise. "Shiver me Timbers!"  There was Captain Jack the Pirate with his treasure map of hidden gold bars and coins. Two mad scientists were juggling clubs; lifting a 200 pound suitcase; and tossing a rubber fish into their crowd.

                                      Raise 'em High, Keep 'em Cold

Country and Western singer Tom T. Hall would be a huge fan of the 16 day Munich Oktoberfest festival.  His beer drinking song I like Beer, it makes me feel Jolly and Mellow is the favorite drinking song in beer gardens worldwide. An Oktoberfest trio, dressed in traditional lederhosen and wearing Alpine hats, played German songs and polkas while partygoers enjoyed beer, sausages, and pretzels.

 Aloha! We're all family and Hawaii was the theme for a luau. Two Hula dancers greeted guests with flower leis while the band Hawaiian Breeze featured authentic music with hula dancing from the four Hawaiian islands and Tahiti.  Mahalo!

 San Francisco and the Height Ashbury resurfaced at a poolside party.  Yes, "We all Need Somebody to Love" and Jefferson Airplane was one of their classic songs from the "Hippie Decade."  "Signed, Sealed, and Delivered,"  that 70's hit made famous by Stevie Wonder, made it official-the music worked. Tables were set outdoors at this Northern California mall; Tim's brunch crowd enjoyed burritos, pizza, Pad Thai, and Eggs Benedict.  What a lovely afternoon-classic rock and country combined with a variety of ethnic restaurants.

 There were no alligators, snakes, and spiders at an East Bay Country Club.

 It was Hawaii party time with Hula Dancers greeting partygoers with colorful flower leis and; a ukulele musician with traditional Hawaiian music. A trio with two Hula Dancers provided the afternoon entertainment; a chef prepared plantains, ribs, and Hawaiian sweet bread. A luau is the perfect recipe during these hot summer months. There was a full house at four outdoor and inside restaurants at a village shopping center in Marin County. Two reasons: A Jump Jive and Gypsy swing trio with a French vocalist provided nightclub style entertainment; there were less restrictions with the virus. An upbeat and lively Latin Trio provided that festive touch at a Marin, California shopping center. No doubt about it, their Latin jazz and popular music was heard throughout this shopping center. A sizable luncheon crowd enjoyed their music with outdoor and indoor dining.

 Did this Easter Bunny hop down the Bunny Trail?

There was no hippity hopping down the Bunny Trail. Our Bunny took Covid precautions and was protected by plexiglass. And, for crowd control, there was a bunny helper with jelly beans social distancing the children for their bunny photos. For December, Celebrity Gems arranges Ms. Claus with Santa Claus.

 Are we Back in the Saddle Again?

A San Francisco Bay Area country club organized a "member appreciation" with music, a balloon artist, and a Juggler who whistled Brazilian music on his unicycle. Gene Autry recorded "Back in the Saddle Again" in 1939. With the Corona Virus, we're not exactly back in the saddle- masks and social distancing continue. With the vaccine, ideally masks will be voluntary. Kudos to this country club for showing their appreciation to their membership.

Did you wear green on St. Patrick's Day? A San Francisco Bay Area shopping center went green by giving everyone four leaf clovers. An ale house served Guinness beer. A fiddler duo played traditional Irish and Celtic music. And that was no blarney. Here's our strolling duo.

 February 2021 marks the 50th Anniversary of Carole King's Tapestry  considered one of the greatest albums of all-time. Produced in the 1960's, Tapestry resonated with the newly liberated woman. Love lost, love gained, the need for a close and loyal friend, and being upbeat and energetic. Carole's solid gold hits, often recorded by other artists include Natural Woman, You've Got a Friend, and I feel the Earth Move.
