Most fundraisers have silent auctions, and raffle items. Let the costumed characters sell the raffle tickets, thus allowing the partygoers to bid on the items in the silent auction.

At the huge "Help is on the Way," event at the Palace of Fine Arts (San Francisco), performers dressed as "Gatsby Girls" worked the crowd, selling raffle tickets. Our Austin Powers also sold tickets, to the delight of the partygoers.
