It would have been easier to find parking on 42nd Street and Broadway, midtown Manhattan, than at the San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore.  For thousands of shoppers celebrating Chinese New Year and Presidents Weekend, valet parking was the only parking available. Chinese Lion Dancing and fan dancing provided a colorful diversion for weary bargain shoppers. The Chinese Zither

A Chinese Trio played music on the Guzheng, a stringed instrument with a 2500 year history in honor of Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dog. The lead musician explained the significance of the music to include fishermen and tornedoes with huge waves, a love song, and enchantment and surenity. For many shoppers at the San Francisco Premium Outlets, it was the first time that they were introduced to the Chinese Zither. A Calligrapher drew names in Chinese letters on Silk Fans for Chinese New Year and "The Year of the Dog" at a San Mateo shopping center. The festivities also included Lion Dancing. According to the Event  Planner, "She was great and accommodated everyone's special request."
