Dorothy, next to the wide screen, with that classic 1939 movie

Stoneridge Mall (Pleasanton) marked the 75th Anniversary of the Oscar winning film "The Wizard of Oz." Following the Yellow Brick Road were Dorothy, the Scarecrow who made balloons, and the friendly Witch from the North.  Dorothy was absolutely marvelous when she sang the Oscar winning song "Over the Rainbow."  She involved the kids by teaching them dance steps to "We're Off to See the Wizard."  Parents lined up throughout the afternoon to take pictures of Dorothy with their kids; and, the kids sat on rubber mats watching the 1939 musical fantasy on a big screen.

Magician engages Kids at Blackhawk Plaza, Danville

Kids rush the stage at end of Magic Dante's performance

Kids demand an encore, at the end of  Magic Dante's performance

It is very challenging for magicians to engage their audience, especially if  their  audience has a majority of six year olds.  A majority of magicians perform their magic for adults only.

Magic by Dante was a huge hit at "The Blackhawk Kids Club" Blackhawk Plaza, Danville. Magician Dante performed his 40 minute audience involvement show despite other distractions, including an arts and crafts for kids nearby.  His illusions and comedy magic was appropriate for the younger audience, and he also gained a thumbs up from their parents.

The event planner was delighted:  "Magician Dante gathered the kids and kept them occupied for his entire show. His illusions, especially the trick where he had to follow directions for a magic trick from a mock recording was hilarious. He was a kid favorite."

Danville resident plans "Mahalo Party" for her move to Hawaii

Jeremy greeted the guests juggling on his six foot unicycle

Boy has a scorpion on his face

A farewell party could be a sad occasion. One Danville, CA resident, who is moving to Hawaii, made her farewell into an aloha celebration.  For a neighborhood block party she arranged a Juggler who greeted guests on his six foot unicycle followed by Brie, who face painted and made balloons.

She was delighted with both entertainers and her neighbors were also happy.  She said that although she was moving to Hawaii, she will periodically visit family and friends in the San Francisco Bay Area. Hooray. She will be missed. The good news is that we'll see her again.

Here is her comment:
