Undercover cop Sonny Crockett serves jello shots

The 80's TV Show Miami Vice was known for its illicit drugs, Ferraris, and double-breasted satin suits. Undercover cop Sonny Crockett, wearing his "cool watermelon sunglasses" was a fixture at the hip nightclubs and on the mean streets of Miami. He and his partner busted Columbian drug lords and assorted bad guys. A Sonny Crockett lookalike mingled served jello shots and looked for suspicious party crashers. The partygoers were in safe hands- his Dade County badge and handcuffs were prominently displayed. Country Hoe Down in Union City

The Masonic Home in Union City had an old-fashioned country fair and barbeque for their Harvest Festival and tour of their new facility-Acacia Creek. As a replica to the huge Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton,  there was Country and Western and Bluegrass music, a petting zoo, and games of chance including "Flip the Frog" and the ring bottle toss. Enjoy ice-cream and custard? Rita's Custard and Ice-Cream served their delectable goodies from their brightly decorated food truck.

Beat the heat with Surf Music

When the temperature hit a high of over 90 degrees at the Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center in Alameda, many people retreated to the comfort of their air conditioned homes or sun bathed at the pool. For others, Saturday was a shopping day.
The Riptides. a surf and Beachboy band, provided those "Good Vibrations" for those shoppers who needed a setting away from the sun. This Band captivated their audience for three-hours of surf, fun in the sun, and Beatles music. Country and Western Line Dancers danced in rhythm to the California Cowboys two-hour concert at a Palo Alto shopping Center. Band leader Robert Smith gave a special shout-out to country legend Merle Haggard, with whom he rehearsed his music at Merle's Southern California home. For trivia buffs, his lead guitarist was the guitarist for the 40 million solid gold hit, "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer." Steel Pedal guitarist Bobby Black brought back memories with his rendition of Santo and Johnny's "Sleepwalk." Blues and Classic Rock at Alameda Shopping Center

While California is experiencing a Statewide heatwave, there was a comfortable and breezy day at the Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center in Alameda. Singer Wendy and her talented trio of musicians added to the mellow afternoon by performing to an audience at picnic tables and on a lush green lawn. The band's eclectic mix of 50's and 60's rock and blues and 70's Motown was enjoyed by all.

There was a huge celebration for Northgate mall's 50th Anniversary and Bunny Bash. Joining the celebration was a magician who charmed his audience with a pet raccoon puppet, a face painter whose drawings were an art form, and a balloon artist who sculpted flower balloons. The mall manager joined the fun with an interactive memory game.

A caricaturist typically draws one person or two people. When a Canadian university wanted a remembrance of their class reunion, our caricaturist illustrated the scene with a composite drawing with the college logo. Twenty-five attendees posed for the drawing which was later framed. This remembrance will grace the living room of the host's Atherton home. There was a full array of Chinese entertainment highlighting "The Year of the Rooster" at The Great Mall of the Bay, Milpitas. What a marvelous future in-store for those who believe in symbolism-"The Year of the Rooster" signifies heroes who will do whatever it takes to save the day. with the Rooster having the need for everything neat and organized.
