Castro Valley Boulevard in Castro Valley was all aglow for the annual Menorah Lighting ceremony for the first night of Chanukah. Chanukah, which is a Jewish celebration, commemorates the victory of the Maccabees over the Greeks in the 2nd Century BCE. A fun and festive celebration, a balloon artist sculpted Menorah and Dreidel balloons while the local Chabad rabbi lit the first candle on his huge metal Menorah.
